Inspiration

So many times I am in awe at all the wonderful artwork found in our Close to My Heart idea books.

But at times when I am trying to recreate the art work and have a question on some things, I have a hard time finding the original artist/consultant. This was one of those times.

So recently my club had wanted to recreate the Superhero album in our idea Book:

Usually I am pretty good about figuring out how to recreate the art. But this time I couldn't tell if the artist had used the board book (which is on the "while supplies last" list) or if it was something else. So I tried asking around and nothing. Oh well.

So I thought I would make my own version of this beautiful album.

All the products I used are Close to My Heart
(which can all be purchased on my website www.rockinscissors.ctmh.com )
or if you have any questions please comment below.

So I am pretty excited on how it turned out. But if anyone knows who the above artist is please leave me a comment so I can give credit where it is due! :)

                           This is my re-creation:

I hope you like it :)

Sketch Challenges

So I guess I finally realized how fun and inspiring Sketch challenges are.

I have noticed other Scrapbookers that always posted different artwork and blog posts about Challenges they have done and that they are so easy. There are even Sketches for card making also
But I had been skeptical, because in the past I had seen some sketches from magazines and posts, and was never really sure how it worked. Sometimes I would just draw a blank in my mind when I looked at them and thought "Uh....how do I begin? "

So now I can't get enough of them!!
I am so happy to have found Close to My Heart and other crazy crafters like myself. So many wonderful CTMH Sisters to show me the way!

So today I worked on a Sketch from the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog.
It was a past sketch (Aug 2011) but I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it.

so this is how I started:

and These are the two layouts I created

This First one is for a Mother's Day layout

and this is the second one my Sister asked me to create using the same layout format.

So as you can see so many different looks can be done with just one sketch. Not only by just changing the paper but sometimes flipping it, can really change things around.

Following a sketch can be intimidating at first, but after you see some examples it will become clear on how to begin. That's why I love CTMH and my fellow consultants. They makes Scrapbooking and paper crafting less intimidating.

So now that you can see it can be done.....
I'm going to get back to crafting, while my toddler is still sleeping. ;)

Spring has Sprung!

............and I am so behind. ;)

It's ok because I'm going to make it up by showing you 10 cards.
I made these cards using the Close to My Heart paper pack :

Lucy

I wanted to celebrate spring with some fresh fun and colorful cards.
The moment I saw this paper I knew it was the paper pack to say

Welcome Spring!

and here are the others.

I will be posting tutorials on how to make each of these cards, as well as posting individual pictures of each card.
The first Tutorial will be of this card
(I know not a very good picture, but the tutorial will be better.)

So keep a lookout out,
and as always ....
